Another piece of Mail Art from my sister! This is her fourth submission; I challenge you to beat her total.
Over the last couple of years I have reviewed several beers that can only be found in stores at this time of year. So for your convenience, I have decided to put them all together into one post to help you navigate the oft’ overwhelming realm of the Winter ale/Christmas ale/Seasonal release shelves. This post is mostly applicable to British Columbia, but certain brews may be available in other jurisdictions too!
Recently I invited my mates Scott and Evan over for an evening of cake and conversation. Scott was kind enough to bring along a bomber of the Whistler Dark And Stormy, and so we shared it three ways with our cookies ‘n’ cream cake! He was apparently inspired in his choice by rumours of the evening Evan and I had spent pounding authentic Dark ‘N’ Stormy’s on Evan’s sailboat back in September. No doubt the lighthouse on the label probably helped the choice too!
I might have missed the boat on posting this review, since I don’t think this beer can be found for sale anymore, but on the off chance that someone has a hidden stash and they’re curious what it tasted like in August 2015, read on!
A couple of weeks ago, my sister came to visit in Victoria. She stayed for about a week, and during that time we had many wondrous tasting experiences with our friends. One of these tasting sessions did not directly involve her, but instead our friend Stephen. Whilst browsing the liquor store together for something new to try, Stephen and I each decided to grab a different six-pack of honey beer. It was only natural that we would then do a tasting comparison!
Recently Beer Me BC, a website dedicated to all things BC Beer, released a list of the top 10 BC Craft Beers reviewed on Beer Me BC.
This inspired me to make my own list. My list contains nine beers that I have reviewed in blog posts, and one beer that I have recently reviewed, but not yet shared my review of. Bear in mind that this list only contains beers that I have reviewed, and it will certainly change over time. When two or more beers earned the same rating, I have sorted them alphabetically.
This superbly balanced stout has loads of coffee, dark chocolate, and soda water flavours. It is only available on draught at a select few locations in BC, and in growlers from the brewery in Sorrento (party pigs having been recently discontinued).
Another Mail Art item sent to me by my sister. This one is a collage of four different beer labels/boxes and one wine label.
