The whole time we were in Cuba, I thought this beer was from Guatemala. Turns out I was wrong.
So Stella Artois decided to release a cider. Although I suspect that it was AB InBev who decided to release a cider, and they chose the Stella Artois brand as the route they would take for marketing. Unfortunately this cider—which by virtue of being a cider brewed in New York has nothing to do with the famous Belgian pilsner—is a rather dull tasting affair.
During the Christmas holidays, my Dad decided we would do a beer test. You see, he had recently tried a Big Rock Saaz Republic Pilz, and found it to be quite similar to Pilsner Urquell, a beer with which he has been long acquainted, and so he desired to do a side by side tasting with me.
Since returning to Vernon for the holidays, I have gone and checked out the Marten Brewing Company on a couple of occasions with family and friends.
A Lager Day Poem-November 2015
Khiran and I got the great idea to write tasting notes for bad tasting beers. Because beer blogs need more reviews on Budweiser and PBR. Or so that was the theory. With the help of Khiran’s roommate Will, we succeeded in buying lots of bad beer. While picking out our beers at the government liquor store, we scoffed at the sign above the 8 packs of PBR that read “Try something new!” We bought some anyways. Then we began to drink.
