One of my quests whilst I am in England is to visit the towns and villages of my ancestors and seek out any remaining distant relatives. Since I tend to call in at at least one pub in every place that I visit, I guess you could call it my ancestral home pub crawl. First stop on the tour: Beccles, Suffolk.
Last night I went to a hardcore punk and thrash metal show in floodiful Vernon BC. Bands Irradiation, Awkward A/C, and Illyrian pounded out tunes until my ear drums were singing their own sweet tunes. Prior to the show though, I found time to share a 22oz bomber bottle of the Lighthouse Brewing Company’s newest Explorer Series beer, the 150 Heritage Ale, with Marlow Deiter of local blackened death metal band Xul!
