The 24th of Drodd in the Egg Kingdom is Stout Night at the Black Kribdas Public House in Orvi, Eggward Hills. In our world we follow their lead on the 24th of February.
Normally on stout night I would be most eager to imbibe as many Guinness and/or other highly accredited stouts* as possible, but owing to the large collection of untested stouts in my larder, I deemed it necessary to drink some of what I already had!
Earlier this week I paid a visit to my parents accompanied by a few beers to sample. Father and I ended up making tasting notes for the two Czech style lagers that I’d brought: the Budweiser style Dagvar and the Pilsner style Nice Driveway!
Another Samuel Smith’s beer that I have taken the time to get to know during my post work pints, and on my days off!
Despite being an ardent traditionalist, I actually rather like the unorthodox looking Six Grapes logo on the bottle. It says on the back of the bottle that the ‘Grape’ symbol classifies their port wines on a scale of one to six, “six denoting the lots with Vintage Port potential.” Like many other ports, it also claims to pair well with chocolate and blue cheese! That I don’t doubt, since most ports share many things in common.
