Most of my readers back home will be familiar with the local favourite Dark Matter, brewed by Hoyne Brewing Company, but what if I told you that England has a veritable clone of the Dark Matter, courtesy of Atom Beers in Hull?
I came across this beer the other evening as I sat in Pivni, an excellent craft beer pub located inside a beautiful old Tudor building in York. I was relaxing after a hard day’s work in the other pub that I frequent, The Graduate, and I may have had a few to drink.
I also put some money in the jukebox, inspired to choose Paul Weller’s Wild Wood as a suitable companion for my pint of Wyld Wood Cider, and then followed that up with a heavy mix of Judas Priest, Rush, Budgie, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio. They complemented the Dark Matter rather well.
