To those of you who don’t know, I am a bit of a Trekkie. For those of you who must know, The Next Generation is my favourite series, and my favourite film is probably a toss up between First Contact and the eponymous reboot film. Now that that’s out of the way, I can tell you about this beer (and this book) that I found!
Tonight is my last night in Vernon. Tomorrow morning I head to Vancouver, and on Thursday I fly to London, England. So naturally I am sipping on a couple of brews with my parents and cats as we spin some vinyl. Below is an interpretation of what they taste like.
Last night, my father and I decided to use up the remainder of our rather ancient watermelon in the blender with some vodka. It wasn’t inedible, it just didn’t taste prime anymore, and so we thought a blend of watermelon, vodka, and ice would be the best way to avoid waste. Boy were we in for a surprise!
The Tin Whistle Brewing Company’s Black Widow English dark ale is a wonderful example of a BC brewery getting things right by not putting too much hop flavour where hop flavour should not be.
