In 2015, Parallel 49 came out with their Brews Brothers collaboration beer box. This year they released Vol. 2, which was full of all kinds of interesting looking beers named after famous rock songs, including Paranoid, Run To The Hills, Bat Outta Hell, Gimme Shelter, Comfortably Numb, Suspect Device, Sympathy For The Devil, People Are Strange, and Purple Haze!
While I did acquire a box of the original release, the incredibly slow rate at which Gavin and I consumed it convinced me that I should not rush out and buy Vol 2. Not that there was anything wrong with the beers that we tried, but the incredibly slow rate at which we seem to consume unique single bottles in Vernon is rather alarming. The cellar is always full!
Luckily for me, my summer boss picked up a pack of Vol. 2, and citing his dislike of sours, offered me the Purple Haze Black Currant Sour! I promised him a review of the beer after I tried it.
I drank it in early December with Ian and Stephen whilst Sailing The Seas Of Cheese and eating Cheez Whiz nachos! Yum yum! I know we should have been listening to Hendrix, but cheesy nachos with Primus was the primary planned event of the evening, and my decision to drink the Purple Haze was an afterthought.

Thank you Gary, this beer totally hit the spot during the weirdness of Primus!
