Recently my family went to a wedding on Salt Spring Island. While we were there, we made a valiant effort to sample many of the local products, including this signature blend cider.
I took these tastings notes whilst listening to Black Mountain IV, with noticeable input from my sister and father.
Appearance: straw yellow, 6.7%.
Nose: rotten eggs, sulphur, sweaty socks/mouldering laundry.
Palate: gala apples, distant hint of honey.
Finish: very dry, tangy, mouth puckering, yeasty dirt, lingering transparent apple flavour.
Overall: fascinating and impressive that it smells so bad, yet tastes good.
Rating: 3/5 Good
