I might have missed the boat on posting this review, since I don’t think this beer can be found for sale anymore, but on the off chance that someone has a hidden stash and they’re curious what it tasted like in August 2015, read on!
I purchased this beer because I liked the idea of receiving a reusable squealer filled with Belgian style beer. My parents and I shared it before opening a bottle of Westvleteren 12 in late August of 2015. Since then I believe that Whistler have released more Unique Brews, though I have not tried any of the newer ones.
Whistler Dubbel in a squealer (32 oz half growler).
Appearance: dark amber
Nose: malty, spicy, fruit leather
Palate: figs, malt
Finish: touch of hops, sweet mulled wine
Rating: 3/5 Good
Stay tuned for my upcoming review of the Westvleteren 12 from the same night!
